Social Worker, Psychotherapist
Vulnerability is not winning or losing; it's having the courage to show up and be seen when we have no control over the outcome. Vulnerability is not our weakness; it is our greatest measure of courage.

Welcome
Being a young person in today's world can be very challenging. You may ask yourself: Who am I? Who is the person I want to become and how do I fit into this world? Why does everything stress me out? Why do I feel so down sometimes? This stage of life can present with numerous emotional, social, and identity obstacles and can also be a time of significant opportunity and change, where additional professional support can often be very helpful.
As a registered social worker (RSW) and psychotherapist, I aim to create a safe, empathetic, and supportive space to self-reflect and explore these and other questions. I aim to collaborate with you in figuring out how to overcome the challenges you face and to move forward in ways that fit you.
It takes great courage and strength to reach out for support. I am eager to listen and hear your story.
About Me
I am a Registered Social Worker (RSW) in the province of Ontario. I have been working in the mental health field for 12 years practicing psychotherapy with children, youth, young adults, and their families. I completed my undergraduate degree in psychology and my masters degree in social work (MSW) from the University of Toronto in 2012.
In my private practice, I offer individual and family therapy and I exclusively support young people between the ages of 16-30. Young people reach out and get connected to my support for a variety of concerns such as life transitions, family and relationship conflict, identity exploration, various forms of systemic oppression and discrimination, suicidal ideation, self-harm, social isolation, school and work stress, anxiety and worry, depression, and previous trauma.
I have received specialized training in the following areas:
Trauma and Internal Family Systems (IFS): Releasing Personal and Legacy Burdens: Richard Schwartz
Calming the Inner Critic: Kathy Steele
Lived Experience and Trauma: The Black Experience: Daryl McGraw
Integrative Attachment and Trauma Treatment Model training: ATTCH Niagara
Trauma Assessment and Trauma-focused Cognitve Behavioural Treatment: Geraldine Crisci and Associates
Assist Suicide First Aid and Prevention: Living Works
Brief Narrative Therapy: Karen Young, Reach Out Centre for Kids
Services I Offer
Individual Therapy
I offer individual therapy to young people between the ages of 16-30. I will support you to identify concrete goals that can be instrumental in creating the changes you wish to see in your life. We will work together to accomplish these goals. Please get in touch to see how I can support you.
Family Therapy
I offer family therapy for young people, 16-30, who are interested in including their parents, caregivers, siblings and/or chosen family, to support their goals in therapy. Sometimes there are problematic dynamics within the family system that clients wish to address with family members within the supportive context of therapy. You may also decide that a combination of individual and family sessions fit your needs the best.
FAQs
Does therapy work?
There is much research evidence to support the impact of a safe, trusting, and supportive therapeutic relationship (the “therapeutic alliance”) on positive client outcomes in therapy. As a therapist, my goal is to always remain open, genuine, non-judgmental, and empathetic to what my clients bring to their sessions with the goal of creating this type of working relationship.
How does this process begin?
I offer a free 20-minute phone consultation to provide you with more information about my service and to answer any questions you may have. This consultation is also used to briefly explore what brings you to therapy, your background and potential areas you may want to focus on in therapy. We will also discuss fees and our availability. Should we both decide that my service is a good fit, we can set up a virtual or in-person session. You can also take time to consider our conversation before making a decision.
